Great for the money, exactly as described!, September 28, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Shimano Stimula 2 Piece Spinning Rod (Sports) I'm a moderately experienced salt water fisherman and I've got a number of rods mainly rated medium-heavy to heavy and I just moved to mainland North Carolina. I needed a lighter rod to mount a lightweight reel I had lying around to try and target bream and bass-and also on the cheap! I'd seen this rod in stores and liked the action on it, as well as the 2 piece constructions for ease of transport so I sprung on it. I've been nothing but tickled pleased with the rod-it's soft enough that it makes smaller fish exciting and it's got enough backbone in the lower part of the rod that it doesn't strain too much to bring in the 3lb fish every now and again. Mainly use it for freshwater fun or for catching baitfish (spots, pinfish, croaker, kingfish) in salt-and it's a joy to use for both for this price!
